HIGH POINTS: A new mother
holds her baby and finds there's "No Turning Back." A
youth baseball coach gets a letter of thanks from a former
player. A red-hot momma struts her stuff between carpool trips
in " 'Cause I'm a Mommy." All four cast members declare "Your
Parents Push Your Buttons" 'cause they're the ones who
put them there.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES: Grant
Golson's smooth, powerful baritone veers easily between a rapping
baby and the coach's ballad. Booth Daniels has a hilarious
moment as an octogenarian widower who brags about his conquests
to his departed wife.
BOTTOM LINE: The rhymes
are sometimes obvious and John Glaudini's tunes don't do anything
original, but the energetic cast hits a lot of home runs for
suburban moms and pops who know the drill. Lawson Taitte
