CYNTHIA HAYNES DISAVINO was born in Cincinnati and is a graduate of Ohio State University with a BFA in Acting. Since then, Cindy has had a 35 year career in show business. Her early years included film, commercial and some stage work in New York City, but many of her credits came from regional and dinner theatres around the country.

In 1979, she met her husband-to-be David DiSavino while both were acting in a dinner theatre comedy in New Jersey. They married in 1984 and have a daughter, Katherine, who was born in 1989.

1984 was the year they started Rainbow Productions, producing dinner theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. In 1995, they opened the Rainbow Dinner Theatre, a modern and streamlined dinner theatre facility in Paradise (Lancaster County), Pennsylvania. They own and oversee the daily operations of the theatre to this day.

Cindy’s play writing career started when Rainbow, the only all -comedy dinner theatre in the U.S., started running short of comedy plays about Christmas. With a need to present a non-musical comedy play every year, she began to work with authors on original material, and eventually to write her own. She is the sole author of two shows for the holidays, DECK THE HALLS AND CLEAN THE KITCHEN and A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER.

IS THERE LIFE AFTER FIFTY? was originally titled “We’ve Been Friends Forever” and played at the Rainbow in the fall of 2004. It came about when Cindy started to wonder what would happen if some of her married couple friends were to vacation together.

Cindy enjoys life as a producer, set designer and sometimes author, and is especially proud of her daughter, when she’s not being driven crazy by her. Her hobbies include living in and decorating an old house, reading house magazines and driving David crazy with house projects.
