A Ragtime Revue based on the writings of George Ade

FABLES IN SLANG transports its audience back to the halcyon period between the Spanish-American and Great Wars, when America spoke – and sang – softly while carrying a big stick. Subtitled “A Ragtime Revue,” this natty, nostalgic and educational little show stylishly mingles the all-but-forgotten prose of the Middle American humorist George Ade with the proletarian poetry of musicians and songwriters like Scott Joplin, Irving Berlin, Harry Von Tilzer, Bert Kalmar and Bert Williams.
