Ed Dixon

Ed Dixon
Ed Dixon is a man whose contributions to the theatre world deserve a spotlight of their own. In 2014, two of Mr. Dixon's newest works will receive their World Premiere productions: CLOAK & DAGGER at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA this summer and L'HOTEL at the Pittsburgh Public Theater in Pittsburgh, PA this fall. In addition to these two new works, Mr. Dixon's 1st book SECRETS OF A LIFE ON STAGE... AND OFF continues to leap off book-shelves.
Cloak & Dagger L'Hotel Secrets of a life on stage... and off
From Helen Hayes Award Winner Ed Dixon (Signature’s Sunset Boulevard) comes a delightfully screwball musical comedy send-up of the 1950s film noir.

Third-rate detective Nick Cutter is down on his luck when a beautiful blonde bombshell tosses a very intriguing case (and herself) into his lap. For the next 90 minutes, Nick races through every New York neighborhood in this zany, mile-a-minute whodunit. With four actors playing nearly 20 roles, Cloak and Dagger uproariously spoofs erstwhile mysteries with lightning speed and rapier wit.

Six great stars from hundreds of years apart find themselves together in a strange and wondrous hotel. How do Sarah Bernhardt and Jim Morrison end up at the same breakfast table? In a battle of wits, will Oscar Wilde or Victor Hugo triumph? Does the Ouija board favor Isadora Duncan or Gioachino Rossini? Find these and more enticing answers in the world premiere of Ed Dixon’s comedy L’Hotel, a play that will make celebrity-watchers think they’ve died and gone to heaven.
